<1> = left mouse button (usually, it can be switched for lefties)
<2> = middle mouse button
<3> = right mouse button (usually, it can be switched for lefties)

- The first thing you may want to do is to select a different font or color.
Click on the 'Configuration' button. About 2/3's of the way down is the
color sub menu and following it the font menu. Enjoy..

- Select files with <1> and/or <2>. You'll figure out what the
difference is. (You can also use <1>+Ctrl to do the same as <2>).
(Note: the button bindings (i.e. actions) are configurable, see
Configuration->Edit Configuration, then find (near the top) Mouse
  Bindings & menus.)

- When you have selected something, you can press one of the middle
command buttons (in the window) with the <1> to do stuff.
If you press the command buttons with the <3>, the command will
  execute in the background.

- View things with <3>. (Again, configurable, see above.)

- Enter directories the way you view things (see above). Try pressing the
Ctrl-<1> when you enter directories. (Again, configurable, see above.)

- Type an FTP URL (ftp://...) in the directory entry to browse an FTP site.

- Type an SFTP URP (sftp://...) in the directory entry to browse an
  secure FTP site.

- Try "Configuration->Edit Configuration" to edit lots of
  configuration options.

- After adding stuff to the hotlist, do "Configuration->Save
Configuration" to save the hotlist for later.

Mouse operation summary:

<1> - select/unselect (clears selection first)
<2> - select/unselect (does not clear selection first)
Ctrl-<1> - select/unselect (does not clear selection first)
<3> - view things/cd to directory (same as view button)
Double-<1> - send file to editor (same as edit button)
Ctrl-<3> - View directories in opposite panel

But, remember this is configurable...

- After you have some idea how things work, open the Configuration
window (Configuration ->Edit Configuration) and read through it.
There is a LOT of neat stuff in there.
